"VISION:2020... NOT JUST GDP BUT ALSO LITERACY"
A basic pillar of civilization! Education, no doubt, is as important for society as water is to us. We're on road to achieve our VISION:2020 a "DEVELOPED NATION"! But is that possible when just 12% of our population is graduate and just 25% of them employable!! Are we truly on the route that will lead us to progress and success?
This blog is not about discussing the does and dont's for govt. but about discussing what our responsibility lies in. Its all about taking responsibilities.. not shirking them.. and even worse blaming the govt. for all of it.

As the title suggests this blog intends to focus on our assets i.e. youth. No doubt that when youth dares.. even the mightiest fears!!
EDUCATION:
Yesterday our maid was complaining about the high medical costs she has to bear. I asked which hospital she visits? And the reply, an expected one, was a private clinic. On enquiring further I found that she had no knowledge about Civil Hospitals and that the treatment there was free!
So I helped one fellow save her medicinal costs. But what about others???
There must be millions of such poor ones who are ignorant about the facilities bestowed on them by the govt. What's the use of all these schemes when the people who are aimed at are uninformed??
Education is the foundation on which we can build our society. Its not just for that maid but for all of us. We can't be called successful if our country's got an image of 'A Third World Country'.
ROLE OF YOUTH:
At this age, we've got a zeal to do something. A desire to correct things up which our elders mostly dismiss with a wave of hand. And gradually they also drift towards that category.
Just imagine if youth were to rebel and in a country like INDIA where majority is youth, change can be brought in no time!
"My journey started when one of my friends' father asked me to teach a few children after I was done with my competitive xams after 12th. The initial lot of 10 students who had just got into 12th. At this time when i had expected them to be damn serious about there future, they were too ignorant about it. I had to tell them about all the examinations and their patterns.
One of them was economically weak. He used to come from a village. And after those classes and my getting selected in IIT, something encouraged him so much that this became his dream!
And a dream which he wanted to realise at any cost. Education suddenly became his topmost priority. And that became his obsession! And I'm sure he'll become successful, even if he's not able to get into IIT. And once I talked to him, he told that this' gonna inspire a lot in his village and is sure to get a education boom there. I was startled to see wat those two months could change!!'
The journey continues this summer too and at a larger scale. 50 students in total from city schools and adjoining villages come in with a great enthusiasm. There's that tendency to learn to grow and to succeed. There you can get a feel of India Shining. India doesn't lie only in those urban educated areas or those IITs or IIMs. Their success will be just a small contribution to our 2020 dream. The dream can be realised only when each citizen will be educated.
Take out some of your time, 1-2 hours a week. Don't just go out and donate a thousand bucks to an educational institute. Donate some of your time, esp in your vacations. Its never difficult to find out a slum or some nomad people living in tents nearby. And did you think studying in a CBSE/ICSE school made you superior, think again! Not just for those kids, it'll be a learning experience for you too. You'll be amazed to see the vast talent out there. Always thought what I can do for my country at this age? Do it! Its gonna be the greatest service you can do for your country. Not for a day but this is gonna strengthen the nation forever.
